The Opportunity

AKW’s Audit & Assurance team is experiencing ongoing and continued growth and demand for its services as it continues to build on its reputation as an outstanding, dynamic and experienced specialist group of professionals.

We currently have an opening for a self-motivated, agile individual within our audit and assurance team. The role presents a long-term opportunity, with career pathways. We are looking for someone who is passionate about assisting our clients meet their regulatory assurance requirements, but who is also interested in helping our clients improve the way they go about their business.

We will provide the successful candidate with ongoing mentorship, practical on-the-job training and the opportunity to work with the senior leaders of our firm.

One of the exciting things about working in an audit and assurance role, is that no two days are the same! However, your regular tasks will include:

  • Risk assessments and developing risk-based audit plans

  • Completion of risk-response procedures in accordance with the risk assessments and audit plans

  • Assessing internal control environments and offering suggestions for business process improvements

  • Preparation of financial statements and audit reports

  • Communication of key findings to the team and offering recommendations to our clients to assist them in improving their internal control environment, governance, risk management, compliance and overall effectiveness of business processes

  • Actively contributing to development initiatives within our team
